The Beaumaris Band was formed in 1921, but there are documents and posters on display in the music centre with evidence of a Brass and Reed volunteer band in 1881.The band became the 1st band from Anglesey to qualify for the National Championships in 1974 at the North West qualifying championships in Warrington this was repeated in 1975.

In 1982/83 the band numbers dwindeled and the secetary Mr Robert Lewis and Fred Evans toured local schools to raise the profile of the band. The following week 42 youngsters turned up to a rehersal. Funds were raised to purchase instruments and by 1986 the band entered the North Wales association competition in section five ( for starter bands). The band won this section and along with Fred Evans built up support in the local area. By 1991 the band entered the qualifying competitions for the National Championships and in the early 1990's became 4th / 3rd section National Champions of Britian. The band were runners up in 1993, narrowly missing out on a hatrick of National Titles. In 2000 The newly formed B Band became the 1st band to repeat the achivements of the senior band by taking the title of 4th section Champion Band of Britian. Meanwhile the senior band had notable successes at Buxton, Pilkintons and wins at the National Eisteddfod of Wales.

Championship Section was reached in 1998. The band received invitations for the qualifying competitions for the British Open and in 2002 the band has competed at the Grand Shield. In 2002 the band qualified for the 1st time at Championship level for the National Brass Band Championships at the Royal Albert Hall , this feat was repeated in 2004 cementing it's reputation as one of the finest bands in Wales and the UK. The Band has performed at the Beaumaris Festival with Jens Linderman , Les Neish ( the Bands Solo Tubist ), Alison Balsom , Jonah Lemalu , Bill Conner ( former composer in residence at Granada Television) and Many other international Artists.

2005 saw it's fouth tour abroad ( Netherlands in 1993 and 2000 ,Ireland 1996) with a critically aclaimed tour of Norway ( performances with the Krohnengen , Stangesland , and Tysnes Bands and the Gala concert at the Knall Brass festival Stavanger ) , also in 2004 and 2005 saw perfomances at Bangor University of contempory music for brass by Michael Ball , Merfyn Burtch and William Mathias including a piano concerto for Brass and Percussion featuring Harvey Davies.

Presently the bands have over 140 players and has it's own rehersal and recording facilities at it's purpose built Music Centre. 2006 will see the Band tour Cornwall with the 20th anniversary of the Band entering the North Wales Competition in 1986 and it's 20th performance at the Beaumaris Festival.
