17th and 18th February 2007: NABBC Conductors Convention

Providing a range of seminars, talks and hands-on activities for delegates as well as an opportunity to meet and socialise with other conductors.

23rd January 2006: Summer concert in West Yorkshire

Enjoy a summer evening of great music and delicious food in picturesque surrounds in rural West Yorkshire. Elland Silver Brass Band is playing an evening concert at the National Coal Mining Museum for England, in Overton, on Saturday 24 June.

Elland Silver Brass Band has an extensive repertoire including arrangements of popular orchestral classics, from film music to jazz and popular selections, and of course, brass band standards and marches. The varied programme means whether you are a novice or a brass band buff there is something for everyone at “An evening of Brass”.

The evening will start at 7.00pm when the buffet will be served and then from 7.30pm Elland Silver will play. There is a fully licensed bar that will be serving drinks before the performance and during the interval. Tickets cost £10, which includes food, and car parking is free.

This is a perfect way to spend a summer evening and an opportunity to sample some great music too.

17th January 2006: Concert in Weston-Super-Mare

On Saturday 11th February the Boscombe Citadel Salvation Army Band presents 'An Exploration of Salvation Army Brass Music'. The concert begins at 7:30pm at the Victoria Methodist Church, Station Road, Weston-Super-Mare.

The event is being organised by local area members of the NABBC and is sponsored by SP&S Ltd.

17th January 2006: Brassed On Issue 1 is out now

New and unique bi-annual brass band magazine focussing on the brass band movement in the Manchester and Cheshire areas.

The magazine aims to:
Raise the profile and awareness of the brass band achievements in the local area; Increase exposure and publicity of local brass band events; Keep band members, families, friends and supporters, old and new informed of the news, views and movements in the brass band community.

In addition one of the unique functions of this magazine will be to raise funds for local bands.

21st October 2005: The Kirkintilloch Band release new CD

The Kirkintilloch Band are releasing their new CD at the end of October titled "Angels & Demons". The CD features the band presenting well known tracks including Tommy Overture (The Who), Mission Impossible, Bohemain Rhapsody (Queen), Backseat Diver (Bond), and many more.
